THE WEDDING PROCEDURE – Western Wedding The following explains the various stages of the wedding reception and some background to the origins of these procedures. Please do not hesitate to contact me to assist you with selecting the appropriate music for different stages of the function. THE ENTRANCE This is to welcome the new couple by their family and friends at the reception. Love Songs to find one of your favourite songs. DINNER MUSIC Music to add ambience and atmosphere at the reception, whilst the bridal party and the guests are dining. Light classical music, jazz and soft rock are some examples for consideration. Dinner usually takes about one - two hours. So you may wish to select a wider variety of music from my love songs, Dance, R'n'B, Swing & Hip hop and 70's, 80's & 90's Pop, Rock & Party to find some of your favourite songs CUTTING OF THE CAKE The stroke of the knife through the cake symbolises the cutting of the bonds with both bride's and groom's parents and the start of a new life together. The music selected should be soft and romantic. Kindly check out my selection of Love Songs to find one of your favourite love songs BRIDAL WALTZ This is the first dance to "open the dance floor" as a married couple, giving the opportunity for the guests to enjoy witnessing the first waltz of new Mr & Mrs....... A romantic love song is the norm. Following the bridal waltz, two other love songs Love Songs to find your favourite love song. THE PARTY Let your imagination flow!!!. During a solid two - three hour dance and party session this is where DJ Neil Jay will show and prove your monies worth. As always I welcome requests. Choose from my Dance Music R'n'B, Swing & Hip hop 70's, 80's & 90's Pop & Rock & Party 70's & 80's Disco Reggae 60's Rock'n'Roll Love Songs for a great party. Don't forget a few Love Songs to cuddle each other in the midst of some heated dance track is also worth considering!. THROWING OF THE BOUQUET This symbolises the next lady to be married and passing of good fortune. Your choice of music. I usually play "Girls just wanna have fun", " Bad girls", "Walking on sunshine".... THROWING OF THE GARTER This tradition which goes back to Roman times symbolises the woman's gift of her self to her husband. The music for this should be something a little suggestive. Fats Domino's "Blue berry hill" is a great favourite during this formality. THE EXIT This is the opportunity for the bride and groom to thank the guests prior to departing on their honeymoon. The music selected should be soft and romantic. We can form a circle amongst the guest and get them to wish the happy couple whilst some great tunes are belted. Well now you know how the Wedding reception will take shape as far as the music goes. Don't forget you need a good "Master Of Ceremonies" (MC) to take control and guide the guests through an informed reception. Talk to me about this service that come free with all bookings!
